The But 'n' Ben is a recently refurbished detached 18th century croft cottage overlooking fields to the River Spey, set in an enclosed garden which is safe for children.

Accommodation

  • One double-bedded room, with en-suite shower, wash hand basin and toilet
  • two twin-bedded rooms
    (All bedrooms have continental quilts, but blankets are also available).
  • Bathroom with bath, shower, wash hand basin and toilet.
  • The spacious fitted kitchen, and informal dining area, is equipped with oven, grill, electric hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, automatic washing machine, tumble drier and coffee maker.
  • The large comfortable lounge has an open fire, patio doors and views over open countryside to the River Spey, along with an additional dining area, a colour TV, DVD, video, CD/Stereo and keyboard. Paperbacks, magazines and board games are provided along with books, toys and games for children.
  • The cottage has electric central heating throughout and an immersion water heater.

 

The But 'n' Ben is situated 1.5 miles from the village of Boat of Garten, famous as the home of the Ospreys, the Strathspey Steam Railway and an extremely scenic (and challenging !)18 hole golf course. A hotel, Post Office and general provision store can be found in the village with the main shopping centre situated Aviemore (approx. 6 miles). This internationally famous holiday area provides full shopping facilities, first class hotels, fine restaurants, swimming pool, go-karting, distilleries and discotheques. Amenities for children include the Landmark outdoor centre and Coylumbridge indoor and outdoor play areas.

Situated, as it is, the But 'n' Ben is ideally located to take full advantage of the Spey Valley's many outdoor pursuits including Salmon and Trout fishing on the River Spey and in various lochs, golfing at Boat of Garten, Grantown-on-Spey, Carrbridge and Nethybridge, sailing and wind surfing at Loch Morlich and Loch Insh, gliding at Feshiebridge, bird watching, hill walking and, of course, skiing on nearby Cairngorm. A local bus service is available from Boat of Garten village.
