We are justifiably proud of our James Braid golf course, the river and the woodlands. There are many delightful walks and cycle rides around the village, all of which offer opportunities to watch our magnificent wildlife, and the village is less than three miles from RSPB Loch Garten. Enjoy our Community Garden by the railway station and the play park next to the Community Hall and see the What’s On page for events in the hall and elsewhere in the village.
Admire our new Osprey Feather and Horse & Cart sculptures in the Station Square and see if you can find our wicker Capercaillie in the woods! If you take photos of these – or anything else in and around the village! – we’d love to see them – why not upload them to our Facebook page?
The River Spey and local lochs offer some great fishing – permits are available from the Post Office. Take a ride on the Strathspey Steam Railway and if you want a led walks in the mountains, get in touch with Mountain Innovations (details of both of these below).
If you’d like the chance of seeing Pine Marten, Badger, Red and Roe Deer, Speyside Wildlife have a great mammal hide on Rothiemurchus.
