Fatties - Boat of Garten Dieting Group
Bog Fatties can not claim to be the best slimming club or have any miracle fixes, but what we do is give help and encouragement to anyone who wishes to lose a few pounds. We realise that food is a pleasure and so we have our “treat night” at the end of the six-week session, when we all go out together and enjoy a nice meal.
What happens and what do we do?
Most sessions last between 6 and 8 weeks. On your first visit you will be weighed and this will be recorded (your weight is kept strictly confidential between you and the weigh-in person).
You decide your target, which is how many pounds you wish to lose in the session, with advice if needed. This is recorded (all members could know how many pounds you wish to lose) Then each week you get weighed, without everyone seeing, and your progress is noted.
We all pass on helpful tips and ideas to help lose those pounds. It is this shared common goal and encouragement of other members that helps to shed the weight. Coming every week at the same time to be weighed helps you to judge how you are getting on.
We pay £20 per session, part of this goes towards the rent of the hall but at least £18 goes towards the Fatties Treat. If you lose your target weight this money should cover the price of the treat meal.
If you do not reach your target weight, your subs go into the ‘charity pot’. Needless to say Bog Fatties has given lots over the years to local charities. The person who loses the most amount of weight in the session chooses two local charities who are to receive the ‘charity pot”.
When do the sessions start
The present session of Fatties began on 3rd November and the Christmas Treat night will be held on Wednesday 16th December. Do come along any Wednesday at 6.30 to the Hall. People who want to lose some weight are invited to come, but remember that it is also for people who want to maintain their weight and have to watch it carefully.
All welcome... Men and ladies. We are now a social group and have fun and would like to encourage others to join. Come along at 6.30 to the Community Hall. It only lasts 15 minutes so doesn't interfere with evening plans.
Contact person is Bev on 831 379.
